Pablo Fernandez

Pablo is co-founder and CEO at Clicars.com, #1 ecommerce platform in Europe, that sells +€400m in used cars ‘virtually’ in Spain and went public in 2021 (€1B+ market cap). He is also co-founder at Clikalia, #1 real estate platform in Europe and Mexico, which closed the largest Series B round in Spain’s history. He is a serial angel investor, having invested in 50+ start-ups and is one of the most active Spanish angel investors today. Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Pablo worked at Boston Consulting Group and Santander Bank. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School and Complutense University (national graduation award to best academic transcript in Spain). He currently resides in Madrid, Spain.
Jim Fox, MBA

Jim is CEO of portfolio company Excir, which he joined after attending the University of Oxford 3.5 years ago. While at Oxford, he envisioned Ethos and prior to that spent 10 years at National Oilwell Varco, with his final role being the Vice President of Operations for Canada. He holds an MBA and a Post Graduate Masters Diploma in Global Business from the University of Oxford. He is also a graduate of Harvard Business School. Jim currently calls Calgary, Alberta home.
Nevin Markwart, MBA, CFA, CFP

Nevin is the head of cybersecurity (CISO) for Toronto-based fintech start-up FutureVault Inc. After growing up and playing junior hockey in Regina, Saskatchewan he was drafted first round by the Boston Bruins in the NHL. He transitioned to a long career in asset management after earning an MBA in Finance from Northeastern University in 1994. Nevin recently graduated with a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity from Brown University. He splits his time between Las Vegas, Boston, and Regina.
Wade McGowan, P.Eng.
Wade is a Professional Engineer and serial entrepreneur with 35+ years of energy industry experience. He has founded and exited four successful energy related companies: Catalina Energy, Causeway Energy, Bushmills Energy, and Ironhand Drilling Inc. Wade is a Past Chair of the Canadian Association of Energy Contractors (“CAOEC”). He currently sits on the board of directors for publicly traded CWC Energy Services Corp. and private companies TerraPro Inc. and Excir. Wade holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a Life Member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (“APEGA”). Wade resides in Calgary, Alberta.
Doug Trapp

Doug is the CEO of New West Concrete Ltd. and prior was the CEO Of Mainline Insurance Brokers. Under his leadership, Mainline successfully exited to HUB International where he remained as their Director of Mergers and Acquisitions before retiring from the insurance industry. Doug was born and raised in Saskatchewan and has been an avid angel investor for decades, and currently is an active Director on several private company boards of directors. He is an alumnus of the Buffalo Sabres (NHL), Rochester Americans (AHL) and Regina Pats (WHL). Doug calls Regina, Saskatchewan home.

Raphaela is an Executive Director at CVS Health where currently she leads the company’s growth strategies as well as digital partnerships. Prior to her role in health services, she has over 15 years of experience in financial services at Santander Bank with roles that spanned across marketing, digital innovation, and business development. She holds an MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Raphaela lives in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Megan Ku, P.Eng.

Megan is an electrical and computer engineering student at Olin College of Engineering in Massachusetts. During her studies she has completed internships at Wabtec, MathWorks, and Ernst & Young. Upon graduation she will transition to her new role in software development at Microsoft. At Olin, she has been the sole student representative on multiple presidential advisory committees and is currently on the Olin Ahead Team which develops and executes community strategies in response to COVID-19. Megan currently calls Massachusetts home, but upon graduation will be relocating to Seattle, Washington.
Wayne Paproski, CA, CPA

Wayne is a Partner with MNP in Regina, Saskatchewan, where he has practiced for 22 years with a specialty in domestic taxation. He has spent the past 15 years working closely with private companies in the energy industry in Western Canada and served as a director for several exploration and production and oilfield service companies. Wayne holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, as well as a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Saskatchewan, the Institute of Corporate Directors, and the Canadian Tax Foundation. He currently calls Regina, Saskatchewan home.

George is a former practicing lawyer and businessman who serves on several private and non-profit boards. Most recently he was a Partner in Mainline Insurance that was acquired by HUB International. He retired from the insurance and legal industry and oversees business development at Excir. George is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan and calls Estevan, Saskatchewan home.
